GlobeTrade was founded by Laurel Delaney, a successful entrepreneur, author, speaker, and educator with more than 20 years of experience in global business.

Delaney has extensive international travel experience and is a renowned global small business expert. Her first book, Start and Run a Profitable Exporting Business (Self Counsel Press, 1998), was featured in the Wall Street Journal, the Journal of Commerce, Entrepreneur, and Inc. She is an adjunct professor of MBA International Marketing at Loyola University Chicago.

Delaney's articles have appeared in numerous international newspapers, business publications and Web sites, including China International Business, Fortune Small Business, the Journal of Japanese Trade & Industry, The Conference Board and The Wall Street Journal, and the Web sites of Dun & Bradstreet, the Institute of Management & Administration, and the Small Business Association's Online Women's Business Center.

Named Illinois Exporter of the Year by the Small Business Administration, Ms. Delaney serves on several boards, including, the Illinois Board of Higher Education's International Education Industry Advisory Council, the Journal of International Entrepreneurship, and Women Entrepreneurs Inc. She is also the Chicago chapter facilitator for the Women Presidents' Organization.

Delaney is the global small business columnist for Entrepreneur magazine and was recently named to the 2006 Irish America Magazine Business 100, a distinction celebrating the entrepreneurial and business success of Irish-Americans.

She holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
