Bob Marovich, a writer since he was old enough to spell, is a grantwriter, fundraising professional, and serves as the editor of the GlobeTrade monthly "Borderbuster" e-newsletter.
Marovich is also a gospel music historian, author, and founder of The Black Gospel Blog (theblackgospelblog.com). Fans of The Black Gospel Blog hail from many parts of the world, demonstrating the ability of black gospel music, with its unbridled expression of human emotion, to bridge language and cultural barriers. In addition to his written work on gospel music, Marovich hosts "Gospel Memories," a monthly radio program on Chicago's WLUW, 88.7 FM. On air since 2001, "Gospel Memories" features black gospel, spiritual, and jubilee recordings from the beginning of recorded sound to the early 1980s, with an emphasis on the music from 1945 to 1970. The show streams live to an international audience from www.gospelmemories.com. Marovich is a member of the Chicago Area Gospel Announcers Guild and the Stellar Awards Gospel Music Academy, and serves on the board of the Chicago Gospel Music Heritage Museum. He is an elector for the GMA Gospel Music Hall of Fame and a trustee of Blackburn College in Carlinville, Illinois. Marovich holds a bachelor's degree in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. |
