Rosalind McLymont is CEO of AfricaStrictlyBusiness.com, An online resource for companies seeking to do business with, or already operating in, Africa. Formerly, she was a partner in McLymont, Kunda & Co., international business development
strategists with offices in New York and the Caribbean. She has over 15
years’ experience as a writer, speaker, and global business adviser
to small and medium-sized companies. She was an international trade reporter
and later managing editor of the Journal of Commerce, one of
the United States’ oldest and most prestigious daily business newspapers,
now owned by Britain’s Economist Group.
As a reporter, McLymont covered U.S., Latin American, Asian, African, and Caribbean trade issues, for which she was critically acclaimed in the annual Media Guide to America’s Top Financial Writers. She designed special supplements on trade with China and on the North American Free Trade Agreement (which was submitted for a Pulitzer Prize). McLymont became the Journal of Commerce’s first female managing editor, assuming responsibility for its international trade coverage and its global network of staff and freelance writers. She developed Global Commerce, a resource-oriented weekly digest for small and medium-sized businesses, and an internship program for U.S. journalism students and foreign journalists. McLymont appeared frequently on CNN Money to comment on the impact of global events on U.S. trade. She also appeared on the National Minority Business Council’s Business Report, a monthly cable television show, and was a guest writer for America Economia, Latin America’s top business magazine. She continues to write on international business issues for publications such as the Journal of Commerce, World Trade, Business Standards, Minority Business Entrepreneur, the Network Journal, Transport Topics, New Steel, and Quality Digest. McLymont speaks French and Spanish. She has a master’s degree in journalism from New York University, a bachelor’s degree in French from City College of New York, and a certificate in Spanish language and literature from the University of Madrid. |
